Pterodactyl: A Follow-Up To My Last Post

I wanted to write some of this the other night but the crap pseduo-cellphone keyboard on the PSP officially sucks hard. Anyway, for some reason I was up late and was in one of those moods us non-Tivo-having people have -- I wanted to watch TV and I didn't care how bad the selection was. I was going to watch something. The Sci-Fi channel obliged.

Pterodactyl, starring Coolio. Yes, that Coolio. He plays a the captain of a special forces group running some kind of covert mission in the Turkish forest. He bumps into a paleontologist and a bunch of civilians who are doing who knows what in Turkey (which, by the way, looks like my parents backyard in Michigan). They are attacked by pterodactyls that have recently hatched from dormant eggs in a near-by volcano. It is one of the best B-SciFi movies I've seen in ages. I think it was the Coolio factor because by all other measures it was as bad as Mansquito or Hammerhead. Yes, I really do watch this shit.

It was followed by the original Planet of the Apes. I was up all night. Damn you, Sci-Fi Channel. Damn you all to hell.

Posting From My PSP ... For The Fuck Of It

Bored. Nothing on TV 'cept a real bad flick on SiFi titled Pterodactyl. This thing needs a QWERTY.

First Issue Of nyc2123: Dayender is done

Good God that was a lot of work. But I think it is all going to be worth it. My brother and I are finally working on a project together after talking about it for 5 years. Yesterday we posted the first issue of the PSP formatted cyberpunk graphic novel we've been working on. It is titled NYC2123: Dayender and you can check it out here (although chances are if you're reading this you know me and I've already spammed you with it).

The first issue is 59 frames -- which is a whole lotta late nights sitting up at the computer drawing away. I'm very pleased with the results though and am about to start work on issue two (due out next month).

Why I've Been Absent/Why I Want Firmware 2.0

The reason I haven't posted in ages is closely related to why I've been so looking forward to the new PSP firmware: Official PSP Browser.

My brother and I have been working on a cyberpunk graphic novel for the PSP (first issue hits Monday) and I want to create a PSP friendly website for it ... but that's a bit hard to do when I can't test it this weekend. Fuckers.

Hopefully I'll have time to post some stuff about the process for the graphic novel ... this blog has been in desperate need for consistency of subject matter. Plus I think the work is pretty cool.

Where The Hell Is Firmware 2.0?

It's almost 12:30 pacific time and the much-hyped PSP firmware 2.0 that was promised by Sony to hit the U.S. on Aug 12th is still no where to be found. Sure I could get the Japanese version. Sure anyone who's anyone has probably already done that. But I'm not one to take chances with firmware on a $250 device. I've been waiting patiently till today to get the authorized U.S. version ... so where is it?
